Beetlepede is about identity and humor. By simple repetition, a beetle is reimagined as a millipede.
This installation project began with a series of drypoint and hardground etchings of beetles. After making a print of each beetle, the bugs were painted with gouache and watercolor, and then scanned and digitally reproduced.
Beetlepede was created by the production of dozens of copies of a single image onto cards, which were then arranged and reimagined into a new creature. (close)
